Ms. Abeckjerr is an Associate Attorney at Beltran Brito LLP focusing her practice on business immigration.
Ms. Abeckjerr has experience representing clients on a wide range of immigration matters. She represents and counsels individuals, families, employers, and investors in immigrant and non-immigrant visa matters.
Ms. Abeckjerr graduated cum laude from the University of Miami School of Law, where she was the recipient of a Dean’s Scholarship. During her time there, she was a clinical legal extern for the university’s Immigration Clinic, advocating on behalf of immigrants in a wide variety of complex immigration proceedings. Ms. Abeckjerr represented several clients in removal proceedings, with cases involving Asylum, Cancellation of Removal, and Special Immigrant Juveniles Status. Ms. Abeckjerr also worked as a legal intern for the non-profit law firm, Americans for Immigrant Justice, where she dedicated her work to serving immigration detainees in obtaining release and fighting deportation.
During law school, she was the President of the American Immigration Lawyers Association – University of Miami School of Law Chapter, and was also the President of the Cardozo Legal Society.
Prior to attending the University of Miami School of Law, Ms. Abeckjerr attended the University of Miami, where she majored in International Studies.
Ms. Abeckjerr is fluent in Spanish and French, and knowledgeable in Portuguese and Arabic.
