The DACA and DAPA programs that Barack Obama pushed for February 2015 had a primary goal: to regularize the situation of five million undocumented immigrants in the country.

This way millions of immigrants who live in America would stop its illegal status and live and work quietly.

But a claim made by 26 states, led by Texas, forced the government to temporarily suspend the implementation of both programs.

This addition to increasing frustration among immigrants led to despair of achieving stabilized status.

  3. The lawyer who decides to hire must be accredited and have a license to practice. There are several pages where you can endorse the status of a lawyer, to know if you have any demand or upon complaint or if the contrary is free from any defect or possible legal confusion.
  4. It is important that immigrants know that notaries cannot help to make immigration procedures, are not
    authorized for this, only lawyers.
  5. Stay informed is a must. It is important to continuously review the USCIS website and keep abreast of the latest news.
  6. Can you master the language, but if you’re Hispanic, ask your lawyer that the contract is in Spanish, that all the details of the service and the cost is clear and specified.
  7. It is important to make copies of all documents are signed. Never surrender original papers such as birth certificates. It is also important to read everything that is signed, more than once if possible.
