The initiative came from the government of the United States who designed and prepared a tool kit to help the millions of children of Latin America to learn English, facilitating their integration.
Education Secretary Arne Duncan expressed the importance of programs like this to ensure that all students, regardless of race or gender at their disposal education first.
The Kit consists of ten chapters where resources are available for teachers to identify quickly and effectively what are the deficiencies or learning problems of their students, in this way would be attacking a current problem and ensuring that children are integrated easily to their environment.
The kit also contains some sections for schools to assess possible ways to honor and reflect diversity. The different languages and diverse cultures needs to be known and celebrated.
The kit also proposed to have interpreters for meetings and events that include immigrant parents who are not fluent in English.
